Beginners: Zoom Meeting

Updated: Aug 25, 2020

We will have an optional Zoom meeting on September 1st at 6pm for any beginner parents or guardians who have not yet obtained an instrument for this school year.

The meeting will be hosted by Music and Arts of Baton Rouge, and I will be in attendance as well. You'll want to have your ID and credit card with you, because you'll be able to actually go in and set up your rental during the meeting, with the staff of Music and Arts there to answer any questions that you may have.

This is an optional meeting, but I strongly suggest attending if you haven't gotten your child's rental set up yet.

FAQ:

Will they pull my credit score? - No... as long as you set it up with a credit or debit card, they will not need to pull your credit score.

Do I have to rent through Music and Arts? - No. If you come to the meeting, you can get some info and then make your decision at a later date. I do think that Music and Arts is a reliable company, and I think that they make the whole process as painfless as possible for you.

Where's the Zoom link? It will be provided to me by Music and Arts. Once I get it, I will post it at jpjhband.com.

How/when do we get the instrument? Instruments will be delivered to the school. We will have the instruments scheduled to be delivered Jan 1st. If we are able to play sooner, we will have the delivery date pushed up. You won't make monthly payments until the day of the delivery.

What else should we get? They will advertise all sorts of books, kits, and accessories. Feel free to get however many of these add-on items as you'd like. The only ones I'll require you to get are:

- Cleaning swabs for clarinet at saxophone

- Valve oil for trumpet

- Trombotine lubricant for trombones.

If you have any questions at all just let me know. Thank you!
