Instrument Fitting Night! 

If you’re signing your child up for beginning band (or if you’re thinking about signing them up), please do your absolute best to attend this event. Every student will need to select an instrument with Mr. Will before they are able to be placed in the correct band class. Students who do not meet with Mr. Will to select an instrument before the fall can still join band, but they will have limited instruments to choose from. If you are signing up for band, but unable to attend this event, please contact Mr. Will to set up an alternate time to meet and try the instruments. 

When?

• Tuesday, May 21. We will start at 6:00pm, and we should be completely finished by 7:30 pm or 8:00 pm, depending on the number of attendees.

• A parent/guardian will need to accompany each student for the duration of the event. 

Where?

• Juban Parc Junior High Gymnasium. You can enter campus through the glass doors near the gym (back left corner of campus) and head into the bleachers when you arrive.

Why?

• Each student is unique, and may find one instrument to be more comfortable or approachable than another. In order to get kids set up for success, we need to get each of them scheduled into the correct class to learn the instrument that suits them best. 

• Nobody will ask you for any money at this event. I will provide flyers and pricing information at this event, but we will have a separate instrument rental meeting in the fall to help parents/guardians get their child’s instrument, which will be needed by September 4th.

• This is not an audition. Any student who wants to learn to play an instrument should sign up for band. Music is for everyone! This should be a fun evening where each kid gets to try out different instruments and make some silly sounds together. Please help stress to your child that they can sign up for band no matter what, and that this night is all about finding which instrument suits them best!
